Orion returns the moon is out and its time to do some astrophotography

A lovely clear night last night and Orion was making an appearance at last coming up behind the woods in front of my house. As we don't have the tracking set up on the telescope yet it was a case of using the tripod and doing some shots of the constellations.

The Orion shot and Cygnus shot were done with a Canon 350d on a tripod with a remote timer set to take 50 shots at 20 seconds each with an ISO of 800 and F/3.5 aperture setting using the standard 55 lens, not the nifty fifty but the cheaper version that came with my camera. Still does a reasonable job though. Stacked 50 of these with 30 darks flats and bias to get a nice shot of Orion with the Orion Nebula just below the belt.
