Another attempt at the Milky Way from my back garden hard to do without a tracking motor as the stars start to trail if you increase the exposure time too much. Using my kit lens on a Canon 350d with an ISO of 800 or 1600 and times from 15 to 20 seconds exposure give reasonable results. I have recently got a second hand Canon 450d and a 50mm lens to try out when the sky clears again which should give me better results as it is a wide-angle prime lens but we will see. Adding the foreground back in is also quite a challenge to do but its all part of the learning process which is a lot of fun.
