This is roughly 34 3min subs in H-Alpha with a gain of 900 offset of 100 and 1x1 binning for the settings on the camera.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: arial;"> I then combined that data with only 15 of the same but done in RGB for the final image. Ideally, I need 60 3min subs in H- Alpha and 60 in RGB and I need good flats darks and dark flats calibration frames for a better image but very pleased with the Altair Astro 294c camera so far. Of course, the clouds and crappy British weather don't help but we persevere.</span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiVm8XKGpkdq1lB73Yy96p0QL0n6YNU5gCLOkq-6j4IDnNBZsQfhafeMWZqZaB2jD0FL6dU2H0Zic9_kRtYFeuVZ-NY5SE4RaA-O-F8t72_HCDEvYGqDivJ1KQ8CVBlD3W7bz6vF9UCKLy5qhzDY1F4nJ6FedgmBgXuK865Yv6aDhxl6cLwSvdXlNsyPQ/s3647/Horse%20Head%20Nebula%20(1).tif" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2413" data-original-width="3647" height="424" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiVm8XKGpkdq1lB73Yy96p0QL0n6YNU5gCLOkq-6j4IDnNBZsQfhafeMWZqZaB2jD0FL6dU2H0Zic9_kRtYFeuVZ-NY5SE4RaA-O-F8t72_HCDEvYGqDivJ1KQ8CVBlD3W7bz6vF9UCKLy5qhzDY1F4nJ6FedgmBgXuK865Yv6aDhxl6cLwSvdXlNsyPQ/w640-h424/Horse%20Head%20Nebula%20(1).tif" width="640" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p>Mark Castohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17095897342947349818noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7087251278735661763.post-18240132497546905582022-11-11T17:14:00.001-08:002022-11-11T17:14:40.802-08:00SH2-173 (The Phantom of The Opera Nebula)<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: arial;">Very Faint this one but comes out well in H-Alpha I had never heard of it before and came across it while looking for something new to image. I took several shots of the Rosette Nebula The Jellyfish Nebula and the Fish Eye Nebula trying out the different gain settings and offset setting in the end I settled on a gain of 900 with an offset of 100 binning was 1x1 this worked well producing nice clean subs. Only 21 for the Rosette all 3min long stacked with 15 darks.<br /><br />Very impressed with the amount of detail I am getting back with this camera and looking forward to learning more about it and what it can do.</span><p><span style="color: #393939; font-family: Graphik, -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, Segoe UI, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="color: #393939; font-family: Graphik, -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, Segoe UI, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2TnauLWm-RxeioAQ1c3hQcPtser7KLxJbWozw4mCWrTvsEs-2W0x1tsLz3mL5S5YlAnIYiCR08XQshAenZ8UWlPL2K7TVWVf3uPtFJ4DVK-FPxHT-MFbusv5JhRhyvSTqXUudTHgy0OEKEujNO0IjmlNAzxgkZFpfuC_uIGV2Iibhr_ibNks6ogv1ig/s3781/Rosette%20Nebula%20294c.tif" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2724" data-original-width="3781" height="462" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2TnauLWm-RxeioAQ1c3hQcPtser7KLxJbWozw4mCWrTvsEs-2W0x1tsLz3mL5S5YlAnIYiCR08XQshAenZ8UWlPL2K7TVWVf3uPtFJ4DVK-FPxHT-MFbusv5JhRhyvSTqXUudTHgy0OEKEujNO0IjmlNAzxgkZFpfuC_uIGV2Iibhr_ibNks6ogv1ig/w640-h462/Rosette%20Nebula%20294c.tif" width="640" /></a></span></div><span style="color: #393939; font-family: Graphik, -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, Segoe UI, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /><span style="background-color: white;"><br /></span></span><p></p>Mark Castohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17095897342947349818noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7087251278735661763.post-56350642931400000082022-11-05T07:44:00.000-07:002022-11-05T07:44:17.791-07:00New Camera review- the Altair Hypercam 294C Colour Camera<p><span style="font-family: arial;"><b>Well after a long time imaging with a Canon DSLR I finally have upgraded to a new dedicated Astrophotography Camera the Hypercam 294c fan-cooled CCD.</b></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgh5ZxtEF-CZIkLRh75c4KRwWYV-SFDS6VzBk7Gip184Oc4q6tODVCncwyFj9d2NMgeLK7wbROApVZXVcXY24uvFcjkei0ffE7Qrh5xChhqrmFx5_NHyLp1jpvJoBpqbjejHc53aRjfDdJZ5r7rKWDWHM90AVoXc1iA6kNIeNegrKy_ZKDYrGjg1JT5SA" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: arial;"><img alt="" data-original-height="225" data-original-width="300" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgh5ZxtEF-CZIkLRh75c4KRwWYV-SFDS6VzBk7Gip184Oc4q6tODVCncwyFj9d2NMgeLK7wbROApVZXVcXY24uvFcjkei0ffE7Qrh5xChhqrmFx5_NHyLp1jpvJoBpqbjejHc53aRjfDdJZ5r7rKWDWHM90AVoXc1iA6kNIeNegrKy_ZKDYrGjg1JT5SA=w400-h300" width="400" /></span></a></div><p></p><p><span style="font-family: arial;">This camera was £600.00 in my price range and had favorable reviews so after some consideration, I decided to take the plunge and purchase it from Altair Astro.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: arial;">There is a steep learning curve moving from a DSLR to a CCD camera and most reviews went on about the specs without actually showing you any images so this review is not about the specs as those are readily available online. I just wanted to know, is it any good and what kind of images will it give me. So when it arrived I had a quick look at the software and setting then just got on with even though I had no idea what I was doing, to begin with.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: arial;">The first target was the moon as it was foggy and not great for imaging and it produced a very good image of the moon with lots of nice detail so that was encouraging I think this camera will be great for planetary work. Then later on Orion came up and the sky cleared giving me the chance to try it out on a deep sky object. I use APT for my imaging and after I had done some testing with the exposure times and the binning and gain settings I got my first proper look at what this camera is capable of. Here is the image I got of the Orion Nebula with only 6 two minute subs that's it no darks flats or bias just those 6 subs processed in PS.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: arial;"> WOW, I could not believe my eyes what a difference virtually no noise no amp glow, and tons of lovely detail. I was impressed, to say the least.</span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYpHTLMhIcOZodI3Q4NFvaUcjBXhCh1x0peYioAJY69EoK58AJpk26Padn9P2Qe04ylCymUUOvxGoI3hoPDHgmkxGCmPVtr_FPZyY4BIgP0fS2PcVCBwj3m2GwanOO0DUJEg3zAFW2e3gRbSJOSYIqdLP8hvA-qB3gbFSQ6Ea3mQEJuEgJpXuJ-0oEgw/s1795/Orion%20Nebula%20with%20%20294c%20CCD%20(2).tif" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1338" data-original-width="1795" height="478" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYpHTLMhIcOZodI3Q4NFvaUcjBXhCh1x0peYioAJY69EoK58AJpk26Padn9P2Qe04ylCymUUOvxGoI3hoPDHgmkxGCmPVtr_FPZyY4BIgP0fS2PcVCBwj3m2GwanOO0DUJEg3zAFW2e3gRbSJOSYIqdLP8hvA-qB3gbFSQ6Ea3mQEJuEgJpXuJ-0oEgw/w640-h478/Orion%20Nebula%20with%20%20294c%20CCD%20(2).tif" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: arial;"><br /></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: arial;">So excited to do more with this camera I made a makeshift holder for my Astronomics 12nmHa filter that normally slots into my Canon 450d and rigged it up so it sat at the back of the two-inch adapter that screws onto the front of the Hypercam 294c. </span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: arial;"><br /></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: arial;">Just need to get it to sit in there nice and snugly so it covered the sensor. That done I had another go the next night on Melot 15 and the Horse Head Nebula to see how it did with a Ha filter in front of it. Setting in APT was now a little more sussed out so I did 31 subs with the gain set to 3000 binning set to 1x1 as this camera has a gain boost function. </span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: arial;"><br /></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: arial;">Anyway, who cares let's just try it out and have some fun was my attitude we can learn all the nitty gritty later. So here is my results from last night on Melot 15 and the Horsehead using the Ha filter and again exposure times are the same as I normally use with my canon 450d which is 3 minutes. </span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: arial;"><br /></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: arial;">Gain I found out is like the ISO setting and increases sensitivity.</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: arial;">Here are my images this time I took 15 darks and used them with the images 31 subs for Melot 15 and 21 subs for the horse head.</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: arial;"><br /></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: arial;">As you can see the camera captures a lot of fine detail far more than I could manage with the DSLR and there are only 31 3-minute subs with 15 darks on Melot 15 with more data the possibility for great detail are certainly there.</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: arial;"><br /></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgE2tixCMU1Al3VZZv2fVl2O6JCD-JGSiPnsv0Gm9Xqlyy-_AOlNRxlUdDDJxDRLQcJWgmtBFiKVAdR6R81ktupguCYvugxOsqz9GLr2-VVKK4RqoQfHi9FftJU79eTZ8TSuzVB0dntRQTRlV011cyy1ESLAtm42pvShJI9GZN8G3ds8889vQtCfikVdw/s4128/Melot%2015%20Hypercam294c.tif" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2808" data-original-width="4128" height="436" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgE2tixCMU1Al3VZZv2fVl2O6JCD-JGSiPnsv0Gm9Xqlyy-_AOlNRxlUdDDJxDRLQcJWgmtBFiKVAdR6R81ktupguCYvugxOsqz9GLr2-VVKK4RqoQfHi9FftJU79eTZ8TSuzVB0dntRQTRlV011cyy1ESLAtm42pvShJI9GZN8G3ds8889vQtCfikVdw/w640-h436/Melot%2015%20Hypercam294c.tif" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgV1VlUPGJ4hfZEaOTkWD54o7TVkAZ250cz3WususX58W48ASz00v7vmDbp-evs02AFLVb-pmEFpOOeu3xfkf_OAd-JhhYHrsWD1u0tlNF9L5QqFHUNxHG_H6I0ds3CYpru0Kr5d18BOi2LOt6ph11ffAdwpuC71ewOqRlTDkyS3DwcCk1zyGPb-1bQnQ/s2501/Moon%20294c%20CCD.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2215" data-original-width="2501" height="566" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgV1VlUPGJ4hfZEaOTkWD54o7TVkAZ250cz3WususX58W48ASz00v7vmDbp-evs02AFLVb-pmEFpOOeu3xfkf_OAd-JhhYHrsWD1u0tlNF9L5QqFHUNxHG_H6I0ds3CYpru0Kr5d18BOi2LOt6ph11ffAdwpuC71ewOqRlTDkyS3DwcCk1zyGPb-1bQnQ/w640-h566/Moon%20294c%20CCD.png" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1Qz2Wly_IH-GEiBUcRSbaBQbQyfuXnhmB50s8Iume0kp25-EC50Qf725yPV6ncOD8fz6sOw4Qu9p92dV7T8yCqeFolX_FFwgCRmGd9TEMQyfjmxRYN8y3tpDw4D9ayxzI6AGz85ZFuU_td930mV4BW_YZdww-ggOsadlnBdusIp071DS7o2kkds4Vhg/s3906/Horse%20Head%20Hypercam294c.tif" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2760" data-original-width="3906" height="452" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1Qz2Wly_IH-GEiBUcRSbaBQbQyfuXnhmB50s8Iume0kp25-EC50Qf725yPV6ncOD8fz6sOw4Qu9p92dV7T8yCqeFolX_FFwgCRmGd9TEMQyfjmxRYN8y3tpDw4D9ayxzI6AGz85ZFuU_td930mV4BW_YZdww-ggOsadlnBdusIp071DS7o2kkds4Vhg/w640-h452/Horse%20Head%20Hypercam294c.tif" width="640" /></a></div><br /><span style="font-family: arial;">So after only two nights out with this camera, I have to say I am very impressed with it and very glad I have made the upgrade from my DSLR. text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: arial;">There is another version that has a cooling feature rather than just a fan but that is 800 quid plus and to be honest, taking the darks on the night with this camera is easy so it matters not to me. </span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: arial;">Some other good points about it are it runs off a USB cable so no having to change batteries all the time anymore, and it is much easier to focus this camera I just point it on a bright star using the Altair Astro software zoom right in and put the Bahtinof mask on then turn the focus till its spot on makes focusing a breeze to do.</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; The Eastern Viel Nebula The Flaming Star Nebula The Tulip nebula and the Tadpole Nebula. All of these were done with 3-minute exposures in Ha and RGB on average 30 to 60 of them the more the better but 30 is about the minimum amount. The Skywatcher 130pds is a fantastic telescope I like it better than my trusty old 200p, to be honest, and it's much better for the EQ5 mount. I am slowly saving up for a dedicated astrophotography camera but that will be a while yet and in the meantime getting the Ha filter and the 130pds was a complete game changer when using a modded canon 450d.</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPoGfyFXTv_AEp3d0NM9liJeZcQUo089Ju9XAmvfo5QtYOLHewqsCBICM7sD6Sobjo4h0O_dGwklFoAKk-WljlhPY_48ROTUsokk0PZkGeR5RDjS-nDRSgy1DxeVPysUE-ukICT2WM0FnWLjh94VQbE5AL-g1l04fdOvyE_6gceVDHkPhhwCci-s94kQ/s2100/witchesbroomy%20Ha%20RGB.tif" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1272" data-original-width="2100" height="388" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPoGfyFXTv_AEp3d0NM9liJeZcQUo089Ju9XAmvfo5QtYOLHewqsCBICM7sD6Sobjo4h0O_dGwklFoAKk-WljlhPY_48ROTUsokk0PZkGeR5RDjS-nDRSgy1DxeVPysUE-ukICT2WM0FnWLjh94VQbE5AL-g1l04fdOvyE_6gceVDHkPhhwCci-s94kQ/w640-h388/witchesbroomy%20Ha%20RGB.tif" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvqgBBk0eaKUPpPysUGi9Ngxio_b63foJUQyYgnaTs6dQCmooTzBr-_zg1KIbnOThZiPRv7UuJPVtQnfw4gIyYWybRcZ3rxY65u8wVyVGAfANFtMIH9ofHV44ktGp9ZtwgnLuhIgLx0r-4jH8SEE1HS8kkcM2DjTa_A5fpkY71YgL5l3vQQe5A2ZO9GA/s1923/Flaming%20star%20Nebula%202.tif" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1339" data-original-width="1923" height="446" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvqgBBk0eaKUPpPysUGi9Ngxio_b63foJUQyYgnaTs6dQCmooTzBr-_zg1KIbnOThZiPRv7UuJPVtQnfw4gIyYWybRcZ3rxY65u8wVyVGAfANFtMIH9ofHV44ktGp9ZtwgnLuhIgLx0r-4jH8SEE1HS8kkcM2DjTa_A5fpkY71YgL5l3vQQe5A2ZO9GA/w640-h446/Flaming%20star%20Nebula%202.tif" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgP2nSKgYR5oMaw1y-be3OsSsiU01rUK74q4zbM0YMTjUE2T2tkMXvZq5PJRG1ucwqhioQj4PS7LQ7DYxvo2kfMLYGMs7gOeJKVgiEUMvTSGct_u15PYIdtQgdVKmoNLxT3B9e1t8hWY6tENbh7HDt9iltmut4pTRefe3FJqZVv1DcplaL08daLi92pXQ/s1665/Tulip%20Nebula%20HA%20RGB%20Finished.tif" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1155" data-original-width="1665" height="444" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgP2nSKgYR5oMaw1y-be3OsSsiU01rUK74q4zbM0YMTjUE2T2tkMXvZq5PJRG1ucwqhioQj4PS7LQ7DYxvo2kfMLYGMs7gOeJKVgiEUMvTSGct_u15PYIdtQgdVKmoNLxT3B9e1t8hWY6tENbh7HDt9iltmut4pTRefe3FJqZVv1DcplaL08daLi92pXQ/w640-h444/Tulip%20Nebula%20HA%20RGB%20Finished.tif" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhceqip7i5xESfGzR-ndrk6m-ZpajdVv_tH9OYDvVdaLzHtOeeQpaXC1PiC_13liDA6sL79QpeD_YbyXS9vfbS0_zbnmLabuUnxKkXYanWyAeVunxdBLJKPd3KRyErMpP49KV1NGiOVQReQ_Tp9w37fKuiQCEO_aQjx4bUfG4DuxEYRZUg5K2qu_UMERQ/s1991/Tadpoles%20Ha%20RGB%20finished.tif" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1252" data-original-width="1991" height="402" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhceqip7i5xESfGzR-ndrk6m-ZpajdVv_tH9OYDvVdaLzHtOeeQpaXC1PiC_13liDA6sL79QpeD_YbyXS9vfbS0_zbnmLabuUnxKkXYanWyAeVunxdBLJKPd3KRyErMpP49KV1NGiOVQReQ_Tp9w37fKuiQCEO_aQjx4bUfG4DuxEYRZUg5K2qu_UMERQ/w640-h402/Tadpoles%20Ha%20RGB%20finished.tif" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /> <p></p>Mark Castohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17095897342947349818noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7087251278735661763.post-19509392288950944002022-10-15T01:50:00.006-07:002022-10-15T01:50:59.367-07:00Back to Cygnus for the Wall and the Pelican again <p><span style="font-family: arial;">Love this part of the night sky so full of color and interest. This is the Pelican and the Wall in Cygnus framed up to capture both of them in one shot. I used 50 exposures each 3 mins long with the Astronomic 12nm Ha filter and my modded Canon 450d and then combined that with 30 of the same but in RGB on my unmodded Canon 450d.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: arial;"> It takes a bit longer to gather all the data for this along with 30 darks flats and bias but it's worth the extra effort. Once again the Astronomic Ha filter is proving to be worth its weight in gold delivering stunning details in the subjects. Looking forward to November when Orion comes back into view again.</span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqZQaTUkckh6wnMsnL45IOJfWToWe9REUYwmRvbhCYQPyvfOQXL0WCcQngPKfW0iG0zR9tryuaYz_tersE4sv2cXo3EGhlsM1JGgj8D2xc2KrCebuRzubngF2RxGNkrjjXo68gOmnUFxTaUHGIKosai036izHCUYCYNEKumktVxxcxPcWDwzT3hy6gtg/s2074/Pelican%20and%20Wall%20Nebula%20Ha%20rgb%20finished.tif" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1285" data-original-width="2074" height="396" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqZQaTUkckh6wnMsnL45IOJfWToWe9REUYwmRvbhCYQPyvfOQXL0WCcQngPKfW0iG0zR9tryuaYz_tersE4sv2cXo3EGhlsM1JGgj8D2xc2KrCebuRzubngF2RxGNkrjjXo68gOmnUFxTaUHGIKosai036izHCUYCYNEKumktVxxcxPcWDwzT3hy6gtg/w640-h396/Pelican%20and%20Wall%20Nebula%20Ha%20rgb%20finished.tif" width="640" /></a></div><br /><p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfPKX8Q1UhuPyAd5XQBbawdXrYMcCrOwgC2QaMkTdTaoUCwuihI-N92ISSj6CAHXMVec3MPbjRnMoBtaOziJL6SRXPEULHn2b2L1JqRjFW6zESoLAj_Bk5oMDaw3IcZuIiGRU6b_svM6a0LoZa9CT9fGAnKTer4ofLN_rNs1aDl8Y_qPeOYVY7bSC5wg/s2074/Pelican%20and%20Wall%20Ha%20only%20finished.tif" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1285" data-original-width="2074" height="396" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfPKX8Q1UhuPyAd5XQBbawdXrYMcCrOwgC2QaMkTdTaoUCwuihI-N92ISSj6CAHXMVec3MPbjRnMoBtaOziJL6SRXPEULHn2b2L1JqRjFW6zESoLAj_Bk5oMDaw3IcZuIiGRU6b_svM6a0LoZa9CT9fGAnKTer4ofLN_rNs1aDl8Y_qPeOYVY7bSC5wg/w640-h396/Pelican%20and%20Wall%20Ha%20only%20finished.tif" width="640" /></a></p>Mark Castohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17095897342947349818noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7087251278735661763.post-44044889240875982192022-10-06T06:40:00.003-07:002022-10-06T06:40:47.918-07:00Flaming star Nebula in Auriga<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXcjRL98jEEzeYdsKxuWwZMzyJku_21WzUU3EfKx9DosVGQtTTdQfWIBMZi53d7vU5CDZJay_OikN9JwxSTHdUhhaI6UnACfm8Kkd0YklRlvYJzhMw5PJs_fzCapmQkbicWGmicGnIRyULU2bMfqMQQ8eykniItXrw7hJoc56HQMbyrS4ZGppemIeF2w/s1885/Flaming%20Star%20Nebula%20completed.tif" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1322" data-original-width="1885" height="448" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXcjRL98jEEzeYdsKxuWwZMzyJku_21WzUU3EfKx9DosVGQtTTdQfWIBMZi53d7vU5CDZJay_OikN9JwxSTHdUhhaI6UnACfm8Kkd0YklRlvYJzhMw5PJs_fzCapmQkbicWGmicGnIRyULU2bMfqMQQ8eykniItXrw7hJoc56HQMbyrS4ZGppemIeF2w/w640-h448/Flaming%20Star%20Nebula%20completed.tif" width="640" /></a></div><br /> <span style="font-family: arial;">This one like the California Nebula has taken time to bring out and I'm not finished yet. I have also had the Soul Nebula turned into a print for this you need to set your resolution for your image to 300 when you start work on the stacked image from deep sky stacker. I used insta print for my printed image and they did a great job so will be using them again.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: arial;">I'm super happy with this image and getting the Ha filter with the sky watcher 130pds was a sound investment when using a DSLR it makes a huge difference.</span></p><p></p><div style="text-align: center;"><b style="font-family: arial;">The Heart Nebula</b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b style="font-family: arial;"><br /></b></div><span style="font-family: arial;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhC5rZCBINjUp3YCgECXUMSLHJkaSwe7Z_qDU7Weg0cJHmuGnqL0rJeAmaAQqelDWmtsW3bj3DeFYFAckicw_diHfr6OKrvHbLt-79UTiXbP9ySaBO_vUHQqLjUTkCGxlLKRG21NIZlycPiqqvn6zKpM5cocbe0VyJYolk21-1YKSAOAVp4WMzaPLxXTw/s2061/Heart%20Nebula%20Super%20RGB%20Ha%20combo%20copy.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1334" data-original-width="2061" height="414" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhC5rZCBINjUp3YCgECXUMSLHJkaSwe7Z_qDU7Weg0cJHmuGnqL0rJeAmaAQqelDWmtsW3bj3DeFYFAckicw_diHfr6OKrvHbLt-79UTiXbP9ySaBO_vUHQqLjUTkCGxlLKRG21NIZlycPiqqvn6zKpM5cocbe0VyJYolk21-1YKSAOAVp4WMzaPLxXTw/w640-h414/Heart%20Nebula%20Super%20RGB%20Ha%20combo%20copy.png" width="640" /></a></div><br /></span><p></p><p><br /></p>Mark Castohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17095897342947349818noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7087251278735661763.post-57215106608962797642022-09-05T05:18:00.001-07:002022-09-05T05:18:22.229-07:00The Soul Nebula<p><span style="font-family: arial;">This one required quite a bit of work to capture and get all the data together. My first session captured 50 2 minute exposures ISO 1600 with the Ha filter and the second session captured 35 at 3min each because I messed that up on the first session, hey ho. Any way stacked that lot with 50 darks only as the flats were giving me banding issues and came up with an image I could work with.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: arial;">Pretty pleased with the final results combining RGB data and Ha data together.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: arial;">Nerdy facts.. These warm nights are making it difficult with the 450d sensor getting to hot but with some careful processing I managed to come up with the image which I will later combine with RGB data to get the final picture as I did with the Heart Nebula in the next picture. These are 3minute exposures taken with the Ha filter ISO 1600 the produce amazing detail far more then you can get with just the modded 450d on its own.</span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEimkgLTCwhGItyqrhooblKn5ow0WC30GkNHFK2RTq1Ql9rikGULX1Qbryw4eQtAozZ0rZWSIvAq-93IbDj2Iyx5MWVTSACuc_AGa5x8Bzp05YKpI8pJx8eF_Yf527Wux5NZ_V8fuoeHC0zOe1Hy-jYppmy5cD4CfJ3P2_WtfGE7k9SJLxUOeraPAhW_XA" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" data-original-height="655" data-original-width="981" height="428" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEimkgLTCwhGItyqrhooblKn5ow0WC30GkNHFK2RTq1Ql9rikGULX1Qbryw4eQtAozZ0rZWSIvAq-93IbDj2Iyx5MWVTSACuc_AGa5x8Bzp05YKpI8pJx8eF_Yf527Wux5NZ_V8fuoeHC0zOe1Hy-jYppmy5cD4CfJ3P2_WtfGE7k9SJLxUOeraPAhW_XA=w640-h428" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: arial;">The Heart Nebula in Ha and combined RGB</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisKBl2NQcaY4hFkP0_99zKZYJeKeI6bRXU4paIJYDBFsjDu_5tWtOEyeR-Ty0DkSiLfMkdP1Who1daEQBgMd-KaWfSpZxj7A4jDxNJHogYNe1RoqrFZcUPiykKak6YsU9iazcbXSdbPHWEz-TjsUUujHwMUbzT0GDExkmDuljql9d_XAxZSsyO9_Lotg/s1024/Heart%20Nebula%20Ha.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="676" data-original-width="1024" height="422" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisKBl2NQcaY4hFkP0_99zKZYJeKeI6bRXU4paIJYDBFsjDu_5tWtOEyeR-Ty0DkSiLfMkdP1Who1daEQBgMd-KaWfSpZxj7A4jDxNJHogYNe1RoqrFZcUPiykKak6YsU9iazcbXSdbPHWEz-TjsUUujHwMUbzT0GDExkmDuljql9d_XAxZSsyO9_Lotg/w640-h422/Heart%20Nebula%20Ha.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPf689bCF2H1Bxwo1OiIAiC9o6Tx6M6Cj9Jzf5XYG7GLL-YDy5aMBgXaKF-tC4UNWg5pngukNIvVdhuZv6zpXjOLx5I_RIx2PAQMZptiT2bBeHC403SXEQttgzaH94fT3CMd9i6a0Qe7pa6F2lsnKocfI6XCAbb84dlg01y0fzEG6nA6iYVatZEYKcVQ/s2839/Heart%20Nebula%20rgb%20ha%20finished%20copy.tif" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1890" data-original-width="2839" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPf689bCF2H1Bxwo1OiIAiC9o6Tx6M6Cj9Jzf5XYG7GLL-YDy5aMBgXaKF-tC4UNWg5pngukNIvVdhuZv6zpXjOLx5I_RIx2PAQMZptiT2bBeHC403SXEQttgzaH94fT3CMd9i6a0Qe7pa6F2lsnKocfI6XCAbb84dlg01y0fzEG6nA6iYVatZEYKcVQ/w640-h426/Heart%20Nebula%20rgb%20ha%20finished%20copy.tif" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><p></p>Mark Castohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17095897342947349818noreply@blogger.com0
