Halesworth astronomy group news

Introducing the Halesworth U3A Astronomy group.

Set up this year to encourage people with an interest in Astronomy to learn more about the night sky the U3A Halesworth Astronomy group is a small band of enthusiastic astronomers based in and around the Halesworth area and part of the local U3A group. The group is run by Mark Casto whose blog you are now reading.
We meet once a month to explore the night sky and learn more about Astronomy together. We also attend meeting at our local Astronomy Society and take an active part in educational talks and meeting that promote  astronomy.

So what do we do?
Our aim is simple to enjoy discovering more about the night sky, we have several telescopes and a small library of books on astronomy for members to borrow. We go out and explore the wonders of the night sky  learning more about favourite constellations Galaxy's Nebula and we attend talks and lectures to enhance or knowledge. Our meeting are friendly in house and informal cake biscuits and tea and coffee also fuel or enthusiasm as we enjoy learning and sharing our knowledge and discovery's with each other.

So if you want to learn more about the night sky and the constellations, if you have an interest in astrophotography and want to take great photos of those wonderful Galaxy's and nebula or if you simply want to join a great local astronomy group and have lots of fun making friends and discovering whats up in the sky then please join us.
